Simulation

We develop simulation, scientific computing, and visualization solutions for various stakeholders in the aerospace, defense, and energy sectors.

Mission

Over the course of 30 years, we have developed an expertise in scientific computing, simulation, and modeling of physical phenomena, as well as in developing AI-based processing through tailored product creation.

XR for Skills Development:
To meet the new paradigms of hybrid collaborative training, we create solutions that combine our training expertise with our knowledge of virtual reality and mixed reality technologies.

End-to-end simulation

Our multidisciplinary teams —project managers, PhDs, software architects, and developers— support you at every stage of your projects. From feasibility studies to modeling, including code audits and proofs of concept, we cover the entire development cycle. We deliver custom development of calculation and simulation codes, including pre/post-processing tools, interfaces, and visualization (2D, 3D, AR, VR). We ensure code porting, performance optimization (HPC, GPGPU), third-party code integration, and industrialization. Finally, we guarantee the longevity of your tools through corrective, preventive, and evolutionary maintenance services.

Our solutions

We develop advanced simulation solutions by combining cutting-edge technologies with industry expertise. We design custom synthetic environments to support the sizing, design, and validation of complex systems using various sensors (sonar, radar, lidar, etc.). With over 20 years of experience in scientific computing and high-performance computing, we excel in visualization, human-machine interfaces, data processing, and applied physical modeling. We also create immersive applications in virtual and mixed reality, used for training, virtual tours, and collaboration around expert 3D data.

Since 2020, we have been integrating Artificial Intelligence into our solutions by developing deep learning algorithms based on simulated data, particularly for image processing and autonomous systems.

Our Simulation expertise

Flagship use cases

HEEPS

As part of the Earth Explorer program, the Harmony mission was selected to observe oceanic and continental movements. Involved from the initial phase, Scalian develops the HEEPS (Harmony End-To-End Performance Simulator), which helps optimize the system design alongside the industrial partner leading the project. Its radar synthetic data simulator enhances ground segment processing, particularly in maritime modeling and computational performance. Thanks to this expertise, we are recognized as a key European player in sensor simulation, especially for radar instruments.

EMPRISE

EMPRISE is revolutionizing radar sensor development through advanced simulation techniques. It enables anticipating complex system usage, optimizing processing strategies, and evaluating sensor performance from design to qualification. Its advanced electromagnetic modeling reproduces radar signals with unmatched precision. This simulator stands out with unique holographic representations, adaptability to machine learning methods, and efficient data generation techniques, paving the way for significant advancements in the radar sensor field.

IRESNE

For several years, we have been supporting the simulation of next-generation nuclear reactors. Our team of PhDs and engineers ensures the maintenance and evolution of around one hundred business applications, databases, and simulation exploitation tools. This work is essential for analyzing material behavior, risk assessment, and the study of prospective scenarios. It requires advanced expertise in modeling, high-performance computing, and proficiency in numerous languages and tools such as Matlab, Fortran, C++, MPI, SQL, Java, Python, JavaScript, and VTK.

River simulator

In order to enhance the safety of river navigation, a unique training simulator has been developed. Deployed in Lyon, France, it features an instructor station, a main control station with real controls and a 240° screen, as well as four secondary stations with virtualized controls. This simulator integrates over 70 km of 3D modeling of the most complex areas in terms of currents, topology, and visibility.

It provides an immersive and realistic environment to effectively train navigators for the challenges of river navigation.
